HMS Alliance Tour - The After Ends

Back to Motor Room | Back to the Start

The aftermost section of the submarine had a similar function to the Torpedo Stowage Compartment and Tube Space forward but had only two tubes and four reload torpedoes. Like the fore-ends it was used as an additional living space. Despite the noise from the engines and vibration from the propellers on the surface in rough weather it had one advantage: it was along way from the Officers and Chief Petty Officers forward and offered a certain amount of privacy - the ultimate luxury in submarines like HMS AIliance!
