Just a quick note to let you know that yesterday (12/11/08)we had a very successful get together of ex-submariners living in or near Albox, Almeria, Spain There were 8 of us with 3 apologies so our little group is off the ground. We held it at the Bistro Bonita an excellent restaurant owned and run by 'Shiner' Wright an ex-submariner.

The Submarine Museum is about to embark on a new family oriented exhibition,‘A Pirate’s Life For Me’. This exhibition will explore, in a serious and lighthearted way, the link between submariners and pirates epitomised by the Jolly Roger flag.
We want to dress a mannequin in ‘pirate rig’, and would love to hear from anyone who can tell us a quirky story about or has a photo of, pirate rig that they wore. Please contact Alexandra Geary, the Keeper of Artefacts on [email protected].

I visited the site to read the opening hours for the Museum. But the website is impressive in itself; very well designed and crafted.
I look forward to visiting the museum soon.

We visited the museum many years ago and visited the chapel. My father was lost on HMS Thames in 1940 and we went on to find all we could about his death.
But it seemed as though there were many
different answers and we went on to try and find the answer our selves. The museum was a lovely place and we hope to return very soon . We wonder if GUS is still there???
