PHOTOGRAPHIC
ARCHIVE
The Photograph
Archive contains over 120,000 images depicting the RN Submarine
Service from its inception in 1901 with HM Torpedo Boat No. 1
(aka ‘Holland 1’) to the latest ‘Vanguard-class’ submarines. These
include photographs, negatives, lantern slides and glass plate
negatives of the Submarines, their Crews, Depot Ships and Shore
Bases.
To show the range, quality
and diversity of the photographs we hold, we have recently completed
a comprehensive guide to the Photographic Department. You can

be willing to donate or loan to the museum for copying we would
be very grateful.
